Social Media Intern at Next Day Better

Our mission at NextDayBetter is to empower diaspora and migrant communities through storytelling. If you are excited about the opportunity to use social media to drive change and build a more equitable world, we are looking for a communications specialist to help us build and grow our social media platforms to support our storytelling campaigns . This person ideally has 2+ years of experience in social media strategy, management and analysis. In your capacity, you will be helping NextDayBetter amplify migrant stories around the globe and support our storytelling campaigns that move diasporas to take action and solve some of today’s greatest human challenges.

Can you do this?

This role will be (1) social media brand and audience development; (2) content, promotion, engagement and conversion strategy & execution; and (3) KPI measurement and analysis.

As our Social Media Intern, you will need to:

• Build our social media platforms - develop our social media guidelines, strategy, tone of voice etc
• Own our social channels from end to end from concept to post implementation analysis
• Create content and copy
• Facilitate and lead digital conversations across social media channels with our communities and
• partners
• Lead editorial calendar development and publishing schedules for up to 3 – 4 simultaneous brand and/or NextDayBetter campaigns

• Provide analysis and reports on engagement, performance of posts, media spends and digital storytelling campaigns
• Minimum of 2+ years experience in social media marketing
• Experience running social media accounts for a business or non-profit organization
• Knowledge of mainstream social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter
• Ability to write creative, engaging copy
• Uncompromising attention to detail
• Incredible organization and time-management skills, proven history of taking the initiative and strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with photography, photo editing, or social graphics a plus
• Experience working with diaspora communities a plus
