Kangaru Brands is seeking a creative, energetic and talented Graphic/Packaging Designers to participate in our Internship program! You will assist our Packaging Design team in all design efforts. Our internship program is a full-time, 32-40 hr/week paid position at our Washington Crossing, PA design studio.
Job Basics:
- Design package layouts and logos in Illustrator
- Edit/retouch images in Photoshop
- Make comp packages for presentation
- Balance multiple projects at once
- Be able to convey the essence of products in bright, eye-catching design
- Know how to work and communicate effectively within a team
Software Skills:
- Adobe software: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign

SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Art Director, the Intern will primarily be responsible for:

The Intern will work with other members of the design team, to design and develop new product for Branded, Licensed and Private Label Party, Toys, Activity Kits, Crafts & Stationery including; product and / or packaging as well as ideas and concepts for new products, programs, planograms, displays, marketing materials, sales support, catalogs etc.
The Intern shall have attention to details. The Intern will be responsible for proper file set up, managing and organizing the linked files, fonts and other support files in the Job folders. This position requires a strong desire to design product and packaging in consumer product goods or other children’s items such as; stationery, toys, activities, arts & crafts, etc.

Excellent skills in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft office are required.

Experience working in Mac Based Environment

Traditional sketching Skills are preferred but not required.

Vector Illustration Skills are preferred but not required.

Requires effective oral and written communication skills including the ability to present ideas, and/or facts and recommendations effectively.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Good communication and ability to work with others in the company is necessary.

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations including sizes and color percentages.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Attending an art school or university.

Graphic Design, Package Design, Brand Design, Industrial Design, Toy Design or Illustration Majors

Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Duration: 12 months
Stipend: $1,500-2,500/month
